Is Advertising taking over America?

In today's day-in-age, advertising seems to be every you look. It is nearly impossible to get away from. You are even starting to see more and more advertisement in T.V shows and movies. With this in mind, do you think that advertisement is starting to get out of control? If not, how or why do you think the commercials are effectively reaching audiences to buy their products?

  1. I believe that advertising will never get out of control. Advertising is close to a neccesity in today's society. When people go to the store they are looking to buy the best product and the product most likely to suit their lifestyle. Commercials on TV encourage people to buy their product and when people see these commercials they see the benefits of the item they may purchase. And when a commercial is advertising the same sort of product it could save the buyer hassles that would occur if they had never witnessed the more helpful item.

  2. i have noticed that tv and movies have started to add alot of product placement it seems to be getting out of controll a little bit in tv and movies but when it come to advertisments as in commercials i think it is something that companies need to get their product out there so that people can see it or else no one will buy it or even know about it. in that case i think that commercial are reaching the buyer in that they know about the product although i do not belive they buy the product just because they have seen a commercial about it.

  3. To be honest we should be worried about ourselves instead of what others do. When all is said and done we can control what we do although advertisers are trying to lead us one way it is finally our decision to do that or not. So, pointing the finger at advertisers I believe is a mistake the finger should be pointed at ourselves if we make a mistake or buy a product that eventually harms us. In a free market there should be free advertising.
